Swift-Coles Historic Home

Swift-Coles Historic Home was originally built in 1882 by local Creole fisherman, Thomas Gavin as a four room dog trot style cabin. Charles and Susan Swift purchased the home from Gavin in 1898 and built on to the four room cabin. Swift-Coles is now a Tidewater Mansion with 6,000 square feet of living space and 3,500 square feet of porches. The home is full of antiques and artifacts that are period specific to the home.

Swift-Coles is operated by the Baldwin County Historic Development Center and was opened to the public in 2009 for Historic tours as well as an event venue perfect for weddings and other private events.
