The Historic Cooper-Reid Mansion located in the Pineywoods of East Texas

Located in the quiet East Texas Pineywoods town of Woodville, this carefully renovated and impeccably maintained historic antebellum home sitting on six beautifully landscaped acres features four bedrooms, five baths and over 6,000 square feet of living area. The house which was originally constructed in 1850 was the former home of State Senator (1880-84) and U. S. House of Representative (1892-1904, 1906-08) Samuel Bronson Cooper, who lived here during the last part of the nineteenth century. Later the property was sold to S. H. Reid, a prominent local businessman, whose family occupied the home until the early 1980's. Because of its unique historical and architectural significance the property was recorded as an Historic Texas Landmark in 1968. The house, which originally began as a simple wooden structure, has through the years been continually improved to become the grand, yet extremely comfortable, southern showplace mansion it is today.

The complete contents of this lavishly appointed and decorated home are being offered for sale with the house and property. Everything from the crystal to the carpets will be sold.
