The Kline House
This house was owned by Madison Kline, a founder of Ridgway, Pennsylvania. According to research, the house was built on a lot some 4-5 blocks away (the current site of a beautiful house that is currently the Ridgway Public library, and shares some common architecture and woods.) the house was moved c. 1902 to its current location, as featured in the local paper. Mr. Kline was a lover of the arts and crafts movement, and added a classic fire-place in that style that shares a chimney with a beautiful italinate enclosure on the other side of the parlor. The house fell into disrepair in the 1970 and 80's and was restored in the early 90's, with some rooms dry-walled and insulated and modern plumbing and 200 amp electrical service installed. A first-floor powder room was added in 2001, and the kitchen re-done and the exterior painted and many repairs to the porch in 2005-6. New furnace in 2004. The house has 4 bedrooms, a very large master suite, with laundry and master bath attached. The 2nd floor also has a guest bath with a working claw-foot tub.
