A stately Georgian Foursquare with Victorian flair. The Inn was built for a retired Civil War captain in 1903, is located in the Historic District, and listed on the Register of National Historic Places. Located close to Gettysburg, the area is steeped in Civil War history. Only 1 ½ - 2 hours from Baltimore/Washington, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Mountains surround our valley location. This provides guests with a sense of quiet and a feeling of escape from the hectic pace of the “outside” world. Close to major shopping, theatre, other entertainment areas.

The Inn has been operating since 1991.
The 3 spacious guest rooms are decorated with canopied beds, handmade by a local Amish carpenter, and each has its own modern, private bath. Floor-to-ceiling built in china cabinets in the oversized kitchen that is equipped with everything required to serve a few people or many people. Comfortable front porch, screened side porch and a third porch on second floor. Fully fenced large back and side yards. Owners' quarters. Storage shed and private parking in back of property.

All molding has been restored to its original beauty, including the original wood wall under the main staircase. The Inn has a working pocket door and interior French doors. The living and dining rooms have painted wood floors. There is plenty of storage with a butler's closet and another storage room on the first floor.

The living and dining rooms are a great place for guests to gather. There is an elegant mirrored serving alcove in the dining room. Weddings and receptions, bridal showers, tea parties, and other special events are perfect for this space. The staircase lends itself well to the grand entrance of a bride. The lawn is large, and along with the deck and porches, lends itself well to special events.

The Major Samuel and Mrs.Cowan Room is a favorite of honeymooners and guests celebrating special occasions. Our Pennsylvania walnut,four-poster bed stands on a beautiful Oriental rug. The room has a painted floor, comfortable seating, an antique writing desk, and private bath.
